🇬🇧

Pianist, composer, arranger, keyboard harmonica player, yoga pianist, podcaster, life coach, and body consciousness instructor who pursues the harmony of music and the heart through a wide range of artistic activities.

Started playing the piano at the age of four and has won awards in classical music competitions. Studied international relations (education) at university and graduate school while traveling solo through Asian countries like India, discovering the importance of firsthand experiences. During graduate school, she was captivated by Brazil through a chance encounter and pursued samba dancing while working for a company.

In search of a life true to herself, she left her job and subsequently lived solo in New York, Cuba, and Brazil. In Cuba, she joined the National Dance Company and learned dance and percussion, while in Brazil, she taught herself Brazilian music. After returning to Japan, she co-founded the Brazilian music unit “Duo Brasil,” performing and producing a variety of music projects, including performances at Yokohama Motion Blue, six-star hotels in Tokyo, and projects in Omotesando.

In 2011, she returned to Brazil solo to further improve her musical skills. Through encounters with maestros, exchanges, and jam sessions (often uninvited), she began to be recognized for her talent and became actively involved in various projects.

In 2017, she produced her first leader album, which was selected as one of the top 50 albums released in Brazil that year (the first for a Japanese artist). She also successfully performed at SESC Instrumental, a prestigious stage for musicians, receiving a standing ovation, and actively pursued both domestic and international activities.

In 2018, due to a doctor’s orders, she temporarily stopped performing the piano. This led her to broaden her interests in learning how to use the mind and body, studying the Alexander Technique, yoga, meditation, and self-development. Alongside resuming her musical career, she also earned certification as a body consciousness instructor for musicians.

In 2020, she moved to Turkey with her beloved cat during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also began to deeply engage in trauma therapy and explore her inner self.

In 2023, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and returned to Japan for treatment. She underwent chemotherapy, a mastectomy of the left breast and lymph nodes, and radiation therapy. Despite the difficult side effects, she underwent rehabilitation, and in 2024, she was diagnosed with lymphedema in her left hand, crucial for a pianist, leading her to decide to undergo LVA surgery, a rare procedure for pianists.

Currently, while continuing compression therapy and ongoing treatment, she is sharing her experiences through composing and podcasting. She is also planning her return to performing and aims to bring people together through music, offering peace of mind and inspiration. She values meeting those who will join her on this journey of new challenges and mutual growth.

🇧🇷
